Samantha Hayes ReportingAs the 2006 Olympics come to a close, official merchandise is going fast. Before the Closing Ceremonies, the biggest crowd could be found shopping.

Whether it's a pin or a hat or a t-shirt or something that says Torino 2006, lots of people want to take something back from the Winter Olympics. And, while you can find just about anything, you can also spot some interesting people.

Shoppers Snap Up Olympic Merchandise

We did not time it officially, but from the box to the bag, some shoppers could rival Olympic racers. Staff working the Olympic superstore no sooner stock the shelves and the shirts and hats are gone.

Nicholas Field, Canada: "Just a few souvenirs for mementos to take home."

Omar Seidel, Nebraska: "It's crazy how many people are here. Getting t-shirts for people back home and stuff."

Donna Seavers, California: "We bought all kinds of souvenirs, stuff for our friends at home."

Time is right and friends at home will not only be impressed with a pin.

Zach Limbaugh, Nebraska: "A picture with Mayor Giuliani!"

In the crowd he foundformer New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Famous race car driver Mario Andretti was also doing some Olympic shopping.

Mario Andretti, World Champion Race Car Driver: "It's like coming back home. A great opportunity we had here to represent the white house and it's the first Olympic in Italy for me. I'm having a blast."
