Randall Jeppesen, KSL Newsradio Plans for an outdoor mall near Cabela's in Lehi have been scrapped. Now developers are looking to put outlet shops in its place on the highly coveted land.
About two years ago, plans were unveiled for an outdoor mall near Cabela's. The plans were similar to The Gateway.
Now the plans are to put in an outlet mall instead. "It's a huge geographical place. It's just inevitable that it's gonna grow," one Lehi resident said.
Another Lehi resident said whether an outlet mall, or other types of shops, she'll be happy. "We need a tax base," she said.
Plans are to start construction within a year.
Don't get this confused with the Frank Gehry hotel development. That's a little farther up the road from the outlet location.
