TOOELE -- Hundreds of people took part in the festivities at Miller Sports Park Saturday to raise money for a local charity.
The hot, dusty, muddy obstacle course was set up for the inaugural "Mud Run" for the Utah-Idaho Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
"Mud's awesome. M.S. is a horrible disease, seeing what it can do to people," said participant Andrea Adair. "So it's a good thing to do."

It was a bit of everything at the Miller Sports Park: A 10K boot-camp-style course, with 30 obstacles that individuals and teams had to climb, crawl, run, jump, slide and roll through the mud.
"This is what we do. We travel around the world -- set up races for M.S. -- in an effort to make sure we have a world free of M.S.," said M.S. Mud Run President Paul Courtaway.
Approximately 350 people signed up to take part in the first ever M.S. Mud Run in Utah. Some of the participants went through the obstacle course as a team, while others just wanted to be a part of it. It wasn't easy, though; it took several hours to complete the entire course, but no one seemed to mind the heat and challenging conditions.
"People are crossing the finish line with big smiles on their faces and I can tell you the people greeting them at the finish line are just as excited to see them," said Becky Wooly of the Utah-Idaho chapter. "We couldn't be more happy."
"As fun as this was, it's going to be nice to be clean again," said Adair.
The race brought in about $50,000.
