OGDEN -- Police now suspect arson in the case of a car fire in Ogden.

Officers responded to a call to 28th Street around 1 a.m. and found a Ford Mustang fully engulfed in flames.

A woman named Charity (who did not want to give her last name) told KSL she was outside when heard a group of men yelling. Then she heard something hit a surface.

"And then an explosion went off that started a fire which produced an enormous amount of smoke," she said.

She says she then heard more yelling and a second explosion.

Juan Martinez is a neighbor and friend of the car's owner.

"We thought these two houses were going to catch on fire and then it exploded once," he said. "All the windows went out. And then a second boom, and all the doors just flew open. Then all the neighbors were panicking, running out, trying to get their kids out."

Police suspect arson and are looking into whether an accelerant was used. They have no motive, no suspects and few leads in the case.

A man in his 20s was seen fleeing after the fire started, but the description of him is vague.
