SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The House gave its approval on two bills that lowers the legal age to hunt in Utah.
The proposals are in an effort to collect more hunting fees. They're both sponsored by Representative Curtis Oda of Clearfield.
One of measures would drop the age requirement for big game hunting from 14 to 12. The other measure eliminates any age requirement to hunt small game animals such as ducks or turkeys.
In either case, a child would have to pass the hunting written and shooting tests to obtain a license.
The bills both now head to the Senate for consideration.
