MURRAY — Wedding cake toppers typically portray a husband and wife, happy and in love, but one Murray woman is facing criminal charges after using her topper as a projectile.

The woman, age 25, was charged with one count of criminal mischief with a domestic violence enhancement, a class A misdemeanor, according to charges filed Wednesday in Third District Court.

The woman's husband told police that his wife became upset with him while they were at their home, picked up their wedding cake topper and threw it at the wall, causing a large dent. The woman then threw the topper off of their third-floor balcony into the parking lot.

According to court documents, the woman had a plea in abeyance on a domestic violence charge in Murray Justice Court within the last five years.
