(KSL News) The Utah Department of Transportation is teaming up with Hill Air Force Base to improve safety.

Starting today, the base will close the right turn lane of northbound I-15 at Exit 335 on weekdays from 4 to 8 a.m. The plan hopes to reduce long lines on the ramp and decrease the possibility of high speed rear-end collisons.

The change is a short-term solution. Eventually an auxillary lane will be built between the two Clearfield exits.
