(KSL News) Undercover work and good surveillance helped Salt Lake Police arrest a man they believe is responsible for a shooting last year.

Marco Heimuli is accused of shooting 18-year-old Tevita Finau David Vaenuku in an early-morning shoot out on July 4 last year. They also believe he wounded another man and a 10-year-old boy.

Police found Heimuli at a party on Redwood Road. Officers watched the party, and when Heimuli exited the house, they followed the car he was riding in to a gas station.

Authorities then approached the vehicle where they arrested him and recovered a handgun.
