SALT LAKE CITY — A 7-Eleven clerk who was shot in the face during an armed robbery Wednesday remains hospitalized.
Salt Lake police have interviewed one person of interest but found no connection to the robbery, said Salt Lake police detective Lisa Pascadlo. Police are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the gunman's arrest.
Surveillance video from the 7-Eleven at 483 S. Redwood Road shows the gunman's face was fully covered with a knitted fabric mask. The shooter confronted the clerk, emptied the cash registers and went into a back room where he shot the clerk in the face.
The 44-year-old clerk, whose name has not been released, was badly injured but was conscious and able to call police. He was taken to Intermountain Medical Center in serious but stable condition.
The man detectives questioned is believed to be a man seen in a photograph riding a bike in the area about the same time as the robbery.
