(KSL News) -- The Salt Lake Interfaith Roundtable opened Interfaith Week today, announcing this year's theme, "Celebrating Our Spiritualities".
This group came together as chaplains for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games and stayed together. Mayor Rocky Anderson signed a proclamation, noting that the roundtable has encouraged interfaith respect and understanding.
Elaine Emmi, Salt Lake Interfaith Roundtable: "It goes beyond tolerance. It's not just tolerating one another, but we need to love one another's spiritualities."
Shuaib-ud Din, Salt Lake Interfaith Roundtable: "Where the rest of the world focuses on differences, we, as an interfaith group, would like to focus on similarities. And the fact is, there are far more similarities than differences."
"Tribute to the Human Spirit" concerts take place this Friday, Feb. 10th in Ogden at the LDS Tabernacle at 7pm and Sunday, Feb. 12th in Salt Lake at the Cathedral of the Madeleine at 8pm.
