ALS, or Lou Gehrig's Disease, often strikes in the prime of life, as it did Alan Alderman. Eighty-percent of ALS patients die within five years. Alderman's form is slower moving, but it's been a life changing struggle for him and his family.
Alan Alderman, Lou Gehrig's Patient: "Obviously, when you're facing a terminal illness, family becomes that much more important to you."
He volunteers to help others diagnosed with ALS and hopes awareness and research will eventually lead to a cure.
