(KSL News) A house under construction in Millcreek caught fire overnight, smoldering for hours before being noticed.
Firefighters responded just after 6 this morning to smoke seeping from the house. But when the got inside, they found the fire had started in the basement and burned through two floors.
The structure was so hot that it collapsed under the weight of a firefighter. He partially fell through the floor, but was only slightly hurt.
Investigators still don't know what caused the blaze, but they say the house near 2500 East and 3500 South is almost a complete loss.
