NORTH LOGAN — A boy remained hospitalized Monday in serious but stable condition in North Logan after being locked in the trunk of his parents' car for about 30 minutes over the weekend.

The 5-year-old boy was unconscious and not breathing when he was found Sunday. Police believe the boy found a set of keys belonging to a family member's vehicle, and was able to unlock the trunk and get inside. The trunk closed and locked on him and he was unable to get out, according to a statement from the North Park Police Department.

The boy was breathing on his own by the time emergency personnel responded to the scene. He was taken by medical helicopter to Primary Children's Medical Center.
