(KSL News) The judge in the Curtis Allgier case says he may have a conflict of interest.

Third District Judge Deno Himonas says he knows the family of the corrections officer Allgier is accused of killing during an escape attempt last month.

Himonas is scheduled to oversee a preliminary hearing in the case in September.

Prosecutors say they do not think the judge's connections will impair his judgment. Defense attorneys have not said if they will file an objection.
