MORGAN — A man suspected of stealing a BMW from a Millcreek dealership during a test drive was arrested Sunday in Morgan.
On Friday, the man asked to test drive a 2007 BMW M5 at Exclusive Cars, 40 E. 3300 South. He drove up Parleys Canyon on I-80 with a salesman, then pulled out a gun and ordered the salesman out near Rose Sachs Garden, police said.
Acting on a tip Sunday, the Morgan County Sheriff's Office arrested Chad M. Stewart, 35, and turned him over to detectives from the Unified Police Department.
Stewart was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of aggravated robbery, gun possession by a restricted person and two counts of possessing a stolen vehicle. Police said he drove to the dealership in a Mini Cooper that was stolen in Washington, D.C., two years ago.
