SALT LAKE CITY - Widespread violence and political unrest have forced the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to suspend missionary activities along Africa's Ivory Coast.
The Church says all missionaries and members are safe, but the situation is too dangerous to continue missionary work.
Many members have fled the country to refugee camps, the Church says. Those who have stayed behind have taken refuge in small towns or with LDS churches in the area.
All non-Ivorian missionaries -- along with the mission's president -- have also been moved out of the country.
