HEBER CITY, Utah (AP) -- A father and son accused of shooting a prominent Hispanic activist to death will go to trial.
Yesterday, a judge bound 55-year-old Anthony Pelaez-Vasquez and 19-year-old Cunny Antonio Pelaez over for trial.
Pelaez-Vasquez faces several charges, including first-degree murder, possession of a gun by a restricted person and possession of a controlled substance. His son faces capital murder charges; however, prosecutors will not seek the death penalty.
Prosecutors say the two fatally shot 43-year-old Aniceto Armendariz in September while he was driving home from church with his wife. She was not seriously injured.
