OGDEN -- An Ogden man's essay has brought Superman to his city Wednesday.

"I just wrote an essay just saying that Ogden is really and it has a lot of things going for it. But it also has a lot of bad things going on sometimes, so we could use Superman to drop by," Ryan Doman said. "I guess it worked."

Doman's essay was part of a nationwide contest put on by DC Comics. Writers were asked to explain why their city needed a visit from the super hero, and DC Comics chose several of those cities to include in its "Superman Across America" series.

We won't give it away, but issue #710 that takes place in Ogden has Superman and Batman working together. It went on sale Wednesday.
