Coco Warner ReportingAn apparent murder-suicide in Columbus, Ohio claims two Utah victims.
Columbus Police found the bodies of two 40-year-old Utah men in a townhouse. Detectives have identified the men as Sean D. Stone and Jeff Barrier. Their bodies were discovered at 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon by co-workers of Stone.
Neighbors in the area were shocked.
Craig Beardsley/Resident: "It's very surprising. I really don't know what to say. I'm kind of at a loss for words because nothing has gone on here. The most you ever see is kids on the outside playing around. Other than that it's been very safe, I thought."
Co-workers of Sean Stone became concerned when he failed to show up for work. One of the co-workers apparently saw something suspicious through the window. The group then forced their way into the townhome, prompting a neighbor to call police to report a break-in.
Eric Pilya/Columbus Police: "What they found was two white males, both approximately 40 years of age, that had been shot to death. Right now we're looking at it as a homicide-suicide. We believe they may have known each other."
Detectives say the bodies had been there less than 24 hours.
Columbus police dispatchers contacted Sean Stone's wife, Lisa, who is still living in Utah. She was reportedly too upset to provide further information.
Stone's brother, Michael, is also here in Utah. He told authorities when he spoke with Sean just before Christmas he was by himself. But police do believe the two men knew each other, and KSL NewsRadio reports they were childhood friends.
