SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A group of business and civic leaders is developing its own public health care proposal to deliver to lawmakers and Governor Jon Huntsman ahead of the legislative session that begins in January.

The group is known as the Financial Stability Council. It was formed by the United Way of Salt Lake, and not lawmakers. But it is aiming to influence policy.

Huntsman has said he will wait to see the council's health care reform plan before delivering his own.

The council plans to release its proposal in September.
