(KSL News) -- Police in Southern Utah are investigating a murder after they identified a body found in Washington County over the weekend.

The body of a 20-year-old woman was found Saturday near the Tocquerville Falls Road, east of Tocquerville. Late today the Washington County Sheriff's Department issued a press release identifying her as Trisha Stubbs, and saying the death is being investigated as a "homicide by gunshot."

The release says she was a resident of Washington County. The Sheriff's Office is asking for anyone who was on Tocquerville Falls Road from Wednesday January 4 through Saturday January 7th to call them.

They are also asking for information from anyone who may have had contact with Trisha Stubbs since January 1st.
