(KSL News) -- Today in court a juvenile judge officially granted custody of Baby Darla Woundedhead to her father, Carlos Najera.
The infant's mother was shot and killed last year, forcing doctors to deliver Dalra via emergency C-section.
Najera told the judge Darla has been baptized and named Darla Mariela Woundedhead Najera. After the hearing, Judge Andrew Valdez met privately with Najera. He asked to see pictures of Baby Darla, who's now about six months old.
She's currently in a care facility, where she'll likely stay for life.
