RIVERDALE — The Riverdale Fire Department had to cut through the roof of vehicle to free a 72-year-old woman, whose SUV rolled after a collision.

The woman was traveling east at about 50 mph in a Honda SUV on Riverdale Road at around 3 p.m. when she ran a red light at the 1500 West intersection and was struck by a northbound vehicle, said Riverdale police Sgt. Curtis Jones.

The collision caused the SUV to roll before it rested on its side, trapping the woman inside, Jones said. She sustained minor injuries.

Police are still determining whether they'll cite the woman, Jones said.
