SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Some Salt Lake City attorneys are offering free legal advice to Utahns struggling to manage debt and bankruptcy problems.
Sandy bankruptcy attorney Sonja Jorgensen says the Debtor's Counseling Clinic is run by volunteer attorneys and law students.
Clinic volunteers cover the basics of bankruptcy, debt management and help individuals understand their rights when negotiating with collections agencies.
Jorgensen says clinic staff can help Utahns decide if bankruptcy is their best option and point them to a range of resources.
The two-hour clinic is held on the fourth Thursday of each month at the Salt Lake City Main Library.
