Samantha Hayes ReportingSalt Lake County sheriff's deputies say it’s a favorite spot for thieves, and now they are investigating yet another burglary at the same public storage facility. Investigators are sure it’s more than one person and they believe the same group is breaking into the facility over and over again.

It’s just across the street from their substation and deputies say they have been called there for more than 12 burglaries in the last few months.

Sgt. Scott VanWagoner, Salt Lake County Sheriff's Deputy: “When you enter into a license agreement its your expectation the property is secure."

Steve Dupraix, who discovered his expensive property stolen Wednesday, was not aware Public Storage had been burglarized several times before.

Steve Dupraix: “All the empty boxes of all my gear, the good stuff gone.”

And the security gate that blocks the entrance has been broken several times, that's what deputies say management has told them.

Sgt. Scott VanWagoner: “My recommendation was to install a video surveillance system or at least at the first gate so they can better acknowledge the comings and going of occupants in the facility."

Deputies say they have spoken to local managers at the facility several times before about providing better security because when property is stolen, no matter how many times, investigators say it’s unlikely they will be able to get it back.

Sgt. Scott VanWagoner: “We are developing suspects as we speak.”

Eyewitness News tried to make contact with a corporate representative this afternoon, but was unsuccessful. Investigators tell us, about a year ago a man was arrested for stealing property there; they are looking at him as a potential suspect.
