SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah linebacker Nai Fotu was arrested Sunday morning by the Utah Highway Patrol for driving under the influence.
Fotu, who missed the 2010 football season with a knee injury suffered in spring camp, was speeding and did not have a driver's license on him. He was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.
The senior linebacker had 23 tackles for the Utes in 2009, including 3.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. The 6-foot-2-inch athlete still has two years of eligibility.
Utah football coach Kyle Whittingham issued a statement Monday saying, "Effective immediately, Nai Fotu has been suspended from our football team until further notice."
