SALT LAKE CITY — Police have identified the two people arrested Saturday following a standoff at a Salt Lake City hotel.
Milak Benson, 39, and Sum-Ko Wiley, 23, we arrested about 6 p.m. in connection with a string of robberies that began Friday.
The couple had refused to leave the Quality Inn at 1659 W. North Temple when it was evacuated Saturday. Police say Benson and Wiley had taken refuge in the hotel.
The crime spree started with a carjacking Friday near 175 South and 900 West and was followed by several robberies, including the robbery of a Tesoro on Beck Street on Friday night, as well as a Crown Burger and another business near 300 West and North Temple.
Guests at the Quality Inn were allowed to return to their rooms about 6:30 p.m.
