(KSL News) One boy's close call leads the Sanpete Sheriff's Department to issue a warning about ice.
A 12-year-old boy was playing on the ice at Nine-Mile Reservoir near Sterling. As he started to return to shore, the ice cracked, and the boy fell through the ice.
Luckily, he was able to get out of the water and slide on his belly back to shore, where his family helped treat him.
The Sanpete Sheriff's Department is reminding everyone that even though the evenings are cool enough to form ice, the daytime temperatures are high enough to make ice unsafe to be on.
