SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Fireworks may cause "ooh" and "aah," but they can also leave some gasping for air.
Air pollution far exceeded healthy levels in the 4th of July evening along the Wasatch Front immediately after fireworks displays.
Data from one Ogden neighborhood shows that levels reached nearly 25 times the health standard for fine-particle pollution.
Levels for the larger sized pollution known as PM-10 were about six times the federal health standard for about an hour. Spikes also occurred in Logan and Salt Lake City.
Following Provo's "Stadium of Fire" celebration PM-10 pollution in Lindon was more than double the standard.
