(KSL News) Utah authorities have dismissed charges against a woman accused of kidnapping her young son more than 25 years ago.
Donna Marie Brewton claims she was living in a "hostile environment" when she took her son and fled California in 1981.
She surrendered to Orange County officials on Friday in exchange for fugitive charges filed against her in Utah.
Brewton still faces charges of child abduction in California. Her son is now 32 and has hired an attorney to represent his mother.
