(KSL News) A 72-year-old woman in a wheelchair was hit while crossing State Street at Belmont. It happened around 7:30 this evening.
Police say she made it about half way across when a man driving northbound hit her. She was knocked off her wheelchair. She hurt her lower leg, and had a few bumps and bruises, but she should be OK. She was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
Police say the driver who hit her was having a hard time seeing her in the late evening sun, and was adjusting his visor.
The driver may face charges. Police are still investigating.
