(KSL News) Utah has a new National Historic Landmark. It's the Topaz, World War II internment camp, located west of Delta.
Japanese-Americans from California were sent to the camp, and lived there between September 1942 and October of 1945. Most were sent there within a year after the attack on Pearl Harbor. At a ceremony this morning, a brass plaque was unveiled to mark the site.
Visitors also took tours of the 640 acre camp, which still has original foundations, guard tower footings, and barbed wire.
