HIGHLAND -- The Alpine School District is polling hundreds of people in an effort to find out how they want to deal with growth.

In the next five years, the district could be dealing with as many as 13,000 new students. That will either require a bond for new buildings, larger classes, double sessions in elementary schools, portable classrooms or some combination.

The school board this week is beginning the process of examining a new $200 million bond, on the heels of a bond that was approved in 2006.
