SALT LAKE CITY — A 23-year-old Salt Lake man faces an aggravated assault charge after a woman said he punched her in the face, chased her around her house and hit her in the back of the head with bolt cutters before running away from the house on foot.
According to an arrest warrant filed in 3rd District Court, witnesses told police that Sergio Pulido Gonzales was in the woman's house attempting to sell stolen property to a man at the house in southwest Salt Lake City. The man said Gonzales hit him in the ribs. Both victims said Gonzales took their cell phones and smashed them so they could not call for help.
Both victims identified Gonzales from a photo lineup prepared by police. Charges include aggravated assault, a third degree felony, and misdemeanor charges for assault and damage to or interruption of a communication device.
