(KSL News) A young man accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend will appear in court for a pre-trial hearing today.
Eighteen-year-old Parley Dutson is accused of fatally shooting 15-year-old Kara Hopkins after she refused to have sex with him at a party.
At a preliminary hearing Wednesday, witnesses testified Dutson was high on hallucinogenic mushrooms and marijuana prior to the shooting.
Dutson's attorney claims his client remembers nothing from that night.
