Salt Lake police say speed was not a factor. They say pedestrian was not paying attention.

J.D. Kettenring, Salt Lake Police: "If he's going to go across the light, ummm, you're taking your life into your own hands, yes it's cold, but a couple more seconds could be a lot safer."

The man was taken to the hospital with broken legs and possible head trauma. His injuries are not life-threatening, and he's expected to recover.
