SALT LAKE CITY -- Jackee Wardle of Provo describes herself as a multi-tasker. The mother of seven, who usually tries to exercise while cleaning the house, has spent several hours in the past few days finding new ways to "like" Salt Lake City in Walmart's Fighting Hunger Together campaign.

While exercising for two hours on Wednesday, Wardle was also finding Facebook postings and "liking" them. She figures by now she's probably cast 10,000 votes for Salt Lake City. "I've just spent a lot of time pushing ‘Like,'" she says.

Wardle says she knows of others who planned to work through the night finding new ways to vote. She's been going to Walmart's Fighting Hunger page and finding comments under the Salt Lake City posting that link to open Facebook walls. Any "like" on the comments made counts as a vote.

Wardle, herself, isn't necessarily a fan of Walmart, but she says she certainly supports the retailer giving $1.5 million to food banks around the country.

The city with the most votes will earn $1 million. Five additional cities will receive $100,000 each. The Ogden-Clearfield area is also in the running.

At the Utah Food Bank, they're hoping the effort will go viral before Friday's deadline. But they face tough and organized competition.

In Fresno, Calif., volunteers are working in shifts, not only to vote but to help other people vote. A few businesses have actually set up computer banks to accommodate people who don't have or don't know how to use computers.
