(KSL News) -- A semi truck rolled on Highway 6 this evening, sending the vehicle into the river.

The truck, which was transporting large sections of plastic water pipe, lost control and rolled into the Spanish Fork river.
The driver, Thomas Christians of Iowa, was rescued by a passing motorist who just happens to be a nurse. The victim was kept in a running car so he could warm up after falling into the ice cold water.
It took crews several hours to clean up the load of plastic pipe. Some of the truck's diesel fuel spilled into the river.
The driver was cited for failing to secure the load.
