SALT LAKE COUNTY -- Police are looking for a man who they say stole a car and led police on a high-speed chase.
An officer with the Unified Police Department tried to pull over a car because the officer noticed the vehicle didn't have license plates. The driver sped away with two passengers inside and police pursued.
The driver then turned onto a dead end street near 3900 South and 300 West.
Mike Schoenfeld with the Unified Police Department said, "It was going at a fairly high rate of speed, so fast they were just about to terminate pursuit when the vehicle ended up on this dead end street."
The driver tried to turn around but the car got stuck on train tracks. Everyone inside jumped out and ran.
Police found the passengers a few hundred yards away, but the driver got away. Police say the car was taken from a dealership in Layton.
