SALT LAKE CITY -- Thousands of people gathered in the Conference Center in downtown Salt Lake Thursday night to watch the dress rehearsal of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's Christmas concert, featuring David Archuleta.
Many more were left out in the cold.
"It was completely packed," one person said. "There were a lot of angry people."
Some of those who were lucky enough to get in said they showed up an hour early to make sure they got seats. They said the Conference Center filled up quickly; even the overflow theaters were full and hundreds of people were turned away.
Evening concerts begin Dec. 17 and 18 with a Sunday morning "mini-concert" Dec. 19.
