(KSL News) -- The search is on for the driver behind a fatal hit-and-run.

Police Looking For Driver Behind Fatal Hit-and-Run

Last night, a car ran over a man who had just stepped off a bus at Highland Drive and 35- th South. 80-year-old Robert Elbel, of East Millcreek, died at the scene.

Witnesses say the driver stopped for a moment, looked at Elbel lying on the street, and drove off.

Jody Watanabe/Witness: "He flew in the air a little bit so there's no doubt that they knew they hit him."

Officers say so far, they do not have any leads. They're looking for a red and white Mustang- type car. If you have any information, please contact the Salt Lake County Sheriff's office.
