READING, Mass., Dec 1, 2005 (UPI via COMTEX) -- A Massachusetts woman has been charged with inviting teenagers to her house for a keg party and charging them $5 a head.
Students in Reading speculate that Kim Caufield, 39, threw the party to help her 14-year-old son make friends, the Reading Advocate reports. The family moved from Florida about two months ago.
Police discovered the party when they responded to a noise complaint on Nov. 17. Officers seized the keg and later filed a criminal complaint charging Caulfield with three misdemeanor counts, including distributing alcohol to a minor.
Caufield allegedly collected money from the teens and then gave them cups, marking their hands to show that they had paid.
