SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Regional firefighters in Utah staged a training drill at the vacant Barnes Bank building in downtown Salt Lake City.
Fire Capt. Michael Harp said the Tuesday afternoon drill at 431 South 300 East included three shifts of 62 area fire units.
He calls it a unique opportunity to train at a vacant multi-story building adjacent to the site of the new Public Safety Building.
Harp says the goal is for all Salt Lake area fire agencies to be familiar with the same operating procedures during a large incident.
The effort was coordinated by the Salt Lake City Fire Department through the valley fire training alliance.
