(KSL News) -- Hundreds of Utahns gave thanks today at various church services.

Through songs and sermons, candle ceremonies and prayer, worshippers thanked God for the many blessings they enjoy. Patrons say they're grateful for freedom, peace, and health, for friends, family, and ancestors who paved the way for the blessings they have today.

Mary Gibson: "We have had so many trials and tribulations in our lives, and we've just always been blessed with great friends and family. And our church has been fantastic. It's really given us hope, given us the strength to get over hard times."

About two dozen worship services were held today in Utah.
