BLUFFDALE -- A Bluffdale man living near 13800 South and Redwood Road thought he was working alone in his basement Tuesday morning, but when he heard some noise upstairs he went to investigate.

"I grabbed the shovel and I came up the stairs, and I came in here and I saw that the window was busted out and I saw that the door was open," Reed Anderson said.

Anderson then turned around to find a man in his living room disconnecting his TV.

"I said, 'What the heck are you doing?' And he jumped over the couch," Anderson said. "He already had the door open and ready to go, and that's when I went out. And right as he was going out the door, I took my shovel and I hit him over the head."

Anderson said the burglar, obviously injured, then took off on foot.

Police are now trying to find the man, described as a being in his late teens or early 20s, roughly 5 feet 9 inches tall, and wearing a black hoodie and shorts.

If you have any information on the suspect, contact the Bluffdale Police Department at 801-851-4100.
