SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A new report says average gasoline prices in Utah are back below the national average.

AAA Utah said Tuesday that the average price for a gallon of regular, self-serve gasoline in Utah is $2.83. That's 20 cents higher than a year ago, but 3 cents below the national average of $2.86.

Rolayne Fairclough of AAA Utah says gas prices in the state typically drop in autumn and start to move below the national average. Fairclough says this is the first time since Jan. 25 that Utah drivers have paid less than the U.S. average.
