(KSL News) A truck parked at the airport in St. George plunged 600 feet down an embankment this morning.
Fortunately, the woman who had been driving the truck got out before it went over the edge. She says the parking brake was stuck, and when she tried to fix it, the brake released. She tried to hold on to the truck and stop it as it rolled for about 20 feet. When she let go, it went over the cliff. The driver suffered only a few scrapes.
The embankment is so steep that truck operators snapped two cables trying to retrieve the wreck. They finally got it out after about five hours of trying.
