(KSL News) A proposed fund meant to pay for energy-efficiency projects in Salt Lake City is one step closer to approval.
The Salt Lake City Council has voted to partially fund the Energy Fund for the Future. The fund would collect 1 percent of the general fund's revenues each year. That money would go towards projects like investing in alternative energy sources.
The fund would be overseen by a new sustainability director, who would manage most of the city's environmental projects.
