OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- A federal judge has dismissed a western Nebraska bank from a lawsuit three former executives of a Scottsbluff car dealership filed over accusations that they stole dozens of vehicles off their own lot.
Allen Patch, Rachel Fait and Rick Covello, who now live in Utah, were investigated after more than 80 vehicles disappeared from Legacy Auto Group in March 2009 and most later turned up in other states. They faced dozens of charges of theft and title fraud, which were later dropped.
Scottsbluff radio station KNEB reports the judge ruled Tuesday that nothing in the lawsuit showed Platte Valley Bank acted maliciously.
There's been no ruling on a similar motion by the remaining defendants, Toyota's financing companies.
