(KSL News) A federal grand jury has indicted a second Mexican national for a rollover accident that left two illegal immigrants dead.
A grand jury indicted 18-year-old Noe Luna-Escanola on charges of transporting illegal aliens resulting in death. Prosecutors have already indicted Rames Castellano-Lin, whom they believe coordinated the transport of the immigrants.
The accident happened October 11 on US 191 near Moab. There were sixteen passengers in the van, none of whom were wearing seat belts.
If convicted, both Luna-Escanola and Castellano-Lin could face a maximum penalty of life in federal prison, or the death penalty.
